Our Berth Holders pages have been put together to provide information on cruising and racing from James Watt Dock Marina.
The Firth of Clyde is one of the largest areas of sheltered deep water in the UK and a major centre for leisure boating. In our cruising pages you will find a useful distance table which covers a number of popular day sail destinations as well as some longer passages. The page also contains some helpful web-based resources and links as well as some general Scottish cruising information.
Yacht racing at JWD Marina is based on the East Patch and is run by the East Patch Racing Committee. Yachts join JWD Marina based boats from Rhu Marina, Royal Northern & Clyde Yacht Club and Helensburgh Sailing Club for combined club racing with fleet starts for IRC, CYCA, Sonar and Sonatas. For more information on racing and to see the latest results please click on the appropriate link.
In this section you will also find a page called 'Watering Holes'. Here we are compiling a list of waterfront pubs and restaurants which have facilities for boats to moor or anchor easily. If your favourite spot is not listed yet please get in touch via the contact page and we will ensure that it is added.
Finally, we have included some information on Responsible Boating which are promoting though the RYA's and BMF's Green Blue initiative. The aim is to help boat users, boating businesses, sailing clubs and training centres to reduce their impact on coastal and inland waters
